En Insurtech: our website and mobile apps
▶ Summary
In an interview after the fair where the insurance industry met in person for the first time since the pandemic, I talked about both my observations of the event and the award we received as tamamlayicisaglik.com. I congratulated the organisers: the stands were well built, nearly every insurer was there, and there was a chance to meet new companies. Two things caught my attention: insurers are now focused on technology and talk about it seriously; and an industry that had not met for a long time came together at this fair with real longing.
I read digitalisation as a topic gaining strength on the investment side too. There is still a long way to go, but the appetite is very high; everyone's work, from insurers to loss adjusters, is evolving toward technology. I passed on a comparison from a conversation at the fair: this is a matter of evolution, and everyone who wants to survive in digital will complete that journey. What I care about most is how we build the process as we move to digital, and how we build the teams that will build it. This does not happen with the enthusiasm of one or two people; every company and intermediary has to know which team it will work with. Because we do a job with advice at its centre, I believe the digitalisation of intermediaries will drive the digitalisation of insurance. I saw the view of technology as a threat among intermediaries clearly beginning to break at this fair.
At the end of the interview I mentioned our award. This first award for the website we had worked on for years was the Best InsurTech Insurance Website and Mobile Customer Apps award. Receiving it at such a fair was meaningful; a solid jury that knows both the insurance industry and technology well made it more valuable still. I said this is absolutely a team effort, and that I received the award not alone but on behalf of my team.
